Student Educational Rights Overview for CYI Coaches
CYI learning network opportunity to hear from Lauren Micek Vargas, Executive Director at the Educational Rights Counsel and Dr. Josh Cramer, Senior Vice President at Nebraska Children, about student and school rights and responsibilities that can benefit the youth served in Nebraska’s Connected Youth Initiative (CYI) system and older youth programs to ensure access to equitable education.
There are many educational services available to students in high school that we may not be aware of, and we would like to equip coaches and youth workers/practitioners with the knowledge to help advocate for those student rights so that they can thrive and succeed in school.
This informational session is open to CYI coaches, case managers, and CYI professional partners and will be held via Zoom. It will also be an opportunity for coaches and others to ask questions and provide feedback and information about how we can better support students through CYI coaching/case management.
